Art for Gifts

The Staunton Augusta Art Center’s annual, juried Art for Gifts exhibition and sale will be open seven days a week (except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day), November 16-December 31, 2013, 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 1-4pm Sunday.  There is no admission fee to view Art for Gifts or to attend the opening reception on Friday evening, November 15, 5-8pm.  Everyone is welcome.  Art for Gifts is located in the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries at the R. R. Smith Center for History and Art, 20 S. New Street, across from the New Street parking garage in historic downtown Staunton.

Every year, Staunton Augusta Art Center staff and volunteers transform the art galleries in the Smith Center into a full, holiday shopping boutique comprised of works by approximately 70 Virginia artists and artisans (a list of this year’s participating artists is below).

Art for Gifts offers shoppers a wide variety of quality, unique, handmade fine art and craft at a variety of price points to suit the most serious art collector to a young student looking to purchase a unique ornament for teachers and family members.

Art for Gifts offers accepted artists and artisans an opportunity to exhibit and sell their works.  These two objectives are the epitome of the two-fold mission statement of the 52 year old non-profit Staunton Augusta Art Center: 1) to provide opportunities to gallery visitors to appreciate quality art and 2) to support artists and artisans in the process.

In addition to other year-long benefits, Staunton Augusta Art Center members receive a 10% discount on gallery purchases.  The cost to join for one year is $40 per individual or $60 for a family membership.  To join, pay by credit card on this website or call 540.885.2028.
